a small dot...

(if you were the ocean I'd learn to float)

Sometimes I feel I am getting lost in this online world...  I'm just a small dot in a sea of many, struggling to make my way, not really sinking but not exactly floating either.

On Sunday that feeling of being lost, of being one in many lessened somewhat as I got together with the Hawkes Bay Etsy group.  We had quite a few new comers and it was actually a little overwhelming listening to these people talk about themselves, it was so so good to feel I was a part of it.  It kind of felt that each of these people represented everyone I have had a connection with in this online world, everyone was there.

I now realise that within my little piece of this online sea, I have a place and I carry around with me a sense of friendship, a strong sense of community and belonging... thank you.

Love the eyes on this girl, wonderful!
I know what you mean about getting lost in the sea of many, especially selling on Etsy this can be a little dis-heartening at times. I'm glad that joining the group has made you feel a little better about it all :)

Love the title and the post. It's very inspiring ... especially to other artists that are thinking about starting blogs and finding the courage to set up a shop in etsy. I just started a creative blog last week and I'm still trying to find my way to do set up an etsy shop too.

Hi,Is it not interesting that you are using this modern medium of blogging to reach out into the world. The things you create are meant to be seen by others, they resound with viewers, now you have had an opportunity to expand that base through your cards in stores. I think that buoys around the world will soon be ringing in the seas. love and light Marie

Hi Katherine, I hear you, it's such a joy to me to get together with other etsy girls in my art group...art is a solo activity...and sometimes I feel awfully lonely while at the same time extremely happy doing my art on my own...I love your latest girl, especially the work on her dress at the bottom so amazing...xx..julia...Melbourne
