completely wrecked...

I had a bit of a burst of creative energy over the weekend, it was so satisfying and I went to bed rather happy.   But then I woke up in a panic after having a dream that a whole lot of people were turning up at my house for tea, there were hundreds of them... and I was worried about what to feed them as I only had one potato and a kumera.  Dreams are so weird, whatever is happening... like having to feeding all those people, at the time is of the utmost importance and other facts like why there were hundreds of people at my house and who told them where I lived didn't seem to hold any significance whats so ever.

Anyway back to reality... This painting above was the second one I did with the weird eyes and it really wasn't working, but I carried on with it and now I am really pleased, I think it might be my most favourite?  That seems to be another thing that I have a bit of ongoing trouble with.  I start something and it doesn't look how I planned in my mind, so I ditch it.  I am too quick to call something completely wrecked and unfixable.  Although because of this I now have this wonderful folder which is labeled 'wrecked' and it can be good to go through every now and again, with a few days and a fresh mind I can sometimes find a few treasures.

Unfortunately my "wrecked folder" is the bin, and I have lamented on many occasion over the things I have discarded ...
Meanwhile, love this girl. I was moments ago taking photos of my screen door (ahuh!) - close ups of the round squirly bits of iron and they look just like the bit around her eye!

i just "ditched" something too and know the frustration that can bring (and sometimes regret). the new girls are very interesting and i see each one developing a bit more character as you continue down this path...bravo!

It's that thing of "keep ruining it until you like it." I painted one today that I was sure I had to throw away, but now I like it!

I LOVE your new girls - they are so cool looking. And this one - love the colors of the background and her spiral eye. Really cool!!

You are on a new creative roll!! Wonderful! Hugs, Silke
