Everything depends on how near you stand to me

I have decided to split them up, I didn't like them being next to each other, they fought too much.

These pieces are going to be in a group exhibition called 'Threads' in a place called Little River, in the Banks Peninsula. I still need to add a few things, like the numbers and some thread (to fit in with the title theme). I will sew them to the backing paper.

I am waiting for a phone call about my credit card being oked to give to the etsy people then will start my site... am getting excited and a little nervous.

Have been feeling up and down in the last week, things are not right yet they are good?

Hi Katherine,

I love the combination of all the factors, the hearts on the hats, the scamore leaves like hearts falling from the trees and the wheels on the sheep. Just lovely. And the soft warm pinks of the textured grey of the background is delicious. And I am fascinated by the heart like bow on one of the hats which has a little stem like a major artery to the heart, I wonder what story it is telling.

From our talk on the phone, I thank you for your sense of visual language where, you talked to me of the three "fighting' as they stood together and how separating them 'worked' as a piece of artwork. I had been wondering about these ideas and how I think about my artwork. I was wondering where the imaginative story of the piece is separate from the crafting as a design process in creating the piece was. And our talk answered this question for me. It is the different meanings behind language even because we are using the same words to describe different processes.

Much success with Little River and the credit card for Etsy...I am following in your navigation through the long and difficult sequences and filled with admiration for your abilities to aim at the goal and work at reaching the destination.

i love the way you talk about your pieces as living things, fighting and interacting. it's true. for me, a big part of the creative process is wisely attending to what's happening in front of you and going with it. beautiful work...

OK, so glad you are moving forth with the Etsy shop. I will give you some link love for sure.

And, I'm not just saying this because you read my blog ... but I LOVE, LOVE , LOVE your work. It's very fitting that you read my blog, though, because if I could be an artist I would do what you do exactly. The colors. The lines. The whimsy. Well, everything. So in love.

I hope I can afford a few to decorate our girls room and bath. I really want the one of the two girls in the tub ... will that one be available??? : )

Keep up the great work and keep blogging.

I am so excited for you.
Big leaps of faith and stepping out there and going for it.
Wow.
How very cool.
And I'm really loving the colors going on in these recent ones.
AS always, I feel your art comes from your heart, and it leaves me always, a little closer in touch with my own.

Hello Katherine,

Loved your comment on my blog! I feel a little more normal. AND it's funny that we have kids with the same age gap. That doesn't happen very often.

I love your girls with the sweet cloche hats. The color palette you use is very refreshing.

I'll be looking forward to your Etsy shop opening!

Take care!

I really like how you put it... "wisely attending to what's happening in front of you"
These girls have been with me a long time and they are a part of my family.

Shawn
Thank you for your love of my work, it is very fitting because I love the way you write.

Bella
I am glad you feel a little something in my work. I am amazed at how instantly your writing conjures up images in my mind, you are so very clever.

Heather
I don't know anyone in the world who has kids with the same age gap apart from you. Thank you for your kind words and I will be looking forward to your decision about which art path you will go down.
